Many midwives are still completing the 5000 hour requirement, some are in the process of enrolling or completing the pharmacology for midwives course. Setting up a private midwifery business is the same process and requires the same support and instruction regardless of the type of service you plan to offer. The legal, business and clinical set up for your business will be the same even if you aren’t attending births – you might be able to gather less equipment at this point, but all the other elements are the same.

The mentorship will ensure that you’ve set everything up appropriately for your circumstance and allow you to quickly pivot and adapt your service if you want to start attending births. If you set it all up properly from the beginning, changing your service structure is super easy and can almost be done overnight.
